Flash Animation: Good or Evil?
Animation attracts the eye and can be the reason a visitor will remain at your web site, however Flash files cannot be 'seen' by the search engines. It is recommended to use Flash animation similarly to the way images are use, tastefully and sparingly, keeping in mind that 'text' is king on the internet highway.
